Damaged Hair Tips

Its winter and the cold has hit us hard in the face this time but due to the wild weather (rain one minute, wind the next) our hair is suffering bad and we all know why due to the heat styling and chemicals (due to the ombre maybe), so why not take this time to revive the hair to its natural state.

What to do about the split ends

1. Condition hair, from the tips as it would help repair itself and this should be done no matter what hair type you have.

2. Reduce heat used, blow drying and straightening dry out the hair but when using heat protectant and serums they can restore some moisture.

3. Massage almond/olive/coconut oil use this on your ends and scalp before you have shower/bath and leave it in for at least 2 hours to work through the hair and continue use.

These are quick tips I’ve tried to get my hair back and give it some life, even if you just do one it better than none to be honest but I hope that helped p.s. add me on twitter/ instagram - @officialmaziie, I’ve started answering your yahoo questions now too and my facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/Officialmaziie.

Comment at the bottom and let me know any tips you've tried and what the outcome was and please share (as their are social media buttons at the bottom of this post and don’t be shy)

Trends for school, Hair First.

School, College and Uni has started, but what do you do when you have a bad hair day now. NO, don't bring out the straighteners yet, is your hair is tired or damaged then why not try the braid trend.

1. The simple fishtail braid, do a side fishtail braid and add a hair accessory if you want.

2. The loose braid, keep it simple and relaxed for a effortless look.

3. The crown twist, twist two pieces of hair from one part of the temple to the other and clip and do the same to the other side.

4. The classic bun, put the hair in a pony tail, twist the hair and place it into a bun and keep it in place with a hair band and some clips.

These are just a few ideas which I have tried. We all have the days of frizzy, crazy and unmanageable hair, ok I confess that happens to me more than often and I try to keep my hair healthy but after constantly dying it, I use serums to keep it tamed and it does the trick :P.

1. MINT GREEN, yes i did say mint green. Mint Green nail polish looks amazing with anything. Its a simple way to make your outfit on trend and brighten it up.

2. Ombre Nails, Using a Sponge, cut it to size then pain the desirable nail combination on the sponge and put it on the nails, keep doing this step on all the nails and then paint with a clear nail vanish to finish.

3. Spots, Paint one base colour, then get a bobby pin and dip another nail colour to the tip of the bobby pin and make a patten.

Boyish Blazers and Tweed

I'm sorry for the delay, I've been quite busy these past weeks and at last have time to write a blog :D.

This season we have seen the rise in more laid back blazers due to the sun shining often each day (30 degrees today WOW). This month tweed blazers have been seen more than ever. These should be paired with leather looking trousers or shorts (which is another key summer must have) to tie the whole outfit together opt for a loose fitted blouse preferably White or cream. This would keep the clothes more formal, either choose heels or flats to go with it.

What ever you choose, keep it simple (my motto). If you ever find it hard to make a killer outfit, try and take inspiration from your fav celeb, it always works for me, whether it is the colours they use or the type of clothing they choose to wear, any kind of help is good help.

What to do with those V Neck Jumpers

Its getting colder by the day. Why not get those v neck jumpers out and start using them. I have not worn one for a year or so, but their is no reason why not to. You can wear them at work or just at home. Its one of those items that have been with us for a long time but we don't know what to do with them. I have had some inspiration by Kim Kardashian and the way she has made her v neck jumpers a key statement.

Wear the jumper on its own or with a vest. I prefer to wear it with a vest which match my accessories tying the whole world together. If you want to make it more formal I would wear it with a shirt either a plain colour or striped. It adds a dash of colour to the outfit. Making it more work friendly.

Perfect for the on and off day in the winter where snow could come or go.

New Season = New Face Wash

Everyone finally its summer. Whilst the sun has been rising and it has become sunny. Our skin tries to adapt to the weather change. This year I have seen the unusual break out more often. I thought this was the perfect time to try a new product, since the products i have been using for about 3 months had made my skin dryer than usual.

Whilst I had been watching TV, I had just turned the channel and found out that the Clearasil PerfectaWash had been launched. In the start of January I saw the advertisement for the Clearasil PerfectaWash with JoJo for the US, but never thought that the product would suit my needs.

After looking at some reviews and YouTube videos, I wanted to try out the product, I bought it for £12.00, it comes with the automatic pump, batteries and the face wash. The machine produces the exact amount of face wash you need, the smell of the face wash is just amazing (
fruitylicious). I love the concept, I really do hope to do a review as well on my YouTube channel soon (First one but no way the last video).

A world full of bags but No organisation.

Fashion changes like the seasons. Some items come and go. When looking at key pieces, look for a long term investment. Where the colour, style and name could live on. When I look at a bag I look at price, colour and brand. As my bags will give in to all the books and folders I store in my bag for the day. After a year I would have a new bag, as a daily arm breaker.

The bags I normally choose have to be a colour which can keep its colour throughout the mad weather, store all my books, a make up bag, a pencil case, a umbrella, my phone and a wallet. But looking back their has not been any organization in my bag. I normally have to dive into my bag to find my bus pass, which can get annoying after a few weeks.

I wanted a bag organiser, where I could place all the bits and pieces I regularly use on a day to day basis. That could fit in all my bags and keep its shape. I opted for a medium size organiser, a light pink colour. With space to fit my phone, purse, umbrella and a note book. Problem solved :-)

Sweet Smell

It’s a new term, meaning new scents. I've bought a wide variety of perfumes over the years, which girl has not. There are new fragrances on the market which are storming us by surprise :O. We change our scents like our style. I like to uplift my mood with a spray of perfume when I’m going out.

  • Ed Hardy Original, spray and close those eyes and smell the strawberries around you. If you love the smell of fruity tutti smells this is one for you. I have D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y fallen head over heels for this one :D.
  • Lacoste Touch of Pink, this is a sweet floral which is a classic but modern. This is for someone who like's a dramatic change. Twist your scenes with the zesty aroma of vanilla, jasmine and violet leaves.
  • Estée Lauder Pleasures , this is a fresh floral musk (which my mum used to wear when I was growing up). Pleasures is an exotic flower packed scent, which will live up to your expectations. You'll have pleasure spraying it around, day after day.
  • Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, (which I bought a few days ago), sparkling cherry, spicy amber and mysterious essence which will bring your fantasies to life. I have bought in the past Curious by Britney Spears but I wanted to experiment with other perfumes which were similar. It’s a perfume which needs a reason behind why you will wear it (for me it's special occasions).
  • Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers, is a range of perfumes to suit everyone from woody floral to sparkling floral. My frav is 'Baby' a vanilla floral which has red delicious apple, lush orchid and creamy sandalwood. I would have all of my friends buy one for themselves, this could be a friendship bracelet thing but in a modern teen way.

Keep it bright with a dash of bold colour

This season is all about, the spring and summer looks.  When you walk into a store you see colours, shapes and lengths of different clothing pieces but you have to think would it look good on me and if you would wear it. Now more than ever it’s more about the (Geometric, colour blocking) Print and the Bright Yellow's.

One example is for the work place, wearing a simple black suit with a yellow blouse or shirt with peg leg trousers and some flats. Many of us would wear heals daily but it’s nice to have one day off, with your favourite pair of pumps. I love wearing my flats, I know, I should be wearing heels but whilst in the busy city life i sometimes need the comfort of flats. Truthfully I would love to wear heels every day, they give you confidence and height which some of us need (especially me).

I try my best to incorporate my outfits with both formal and casual aspects but still bang on trend. When it’s my off day I love to wear my jeans (it’s like a best friend) you can wear them with any top and off you go.  Endless fashion with one pair of jeans. You don’t have to wear the tightest jeans ever, keep it simple and let them suit your shape. Wearing harem pants can be the next best thing, comfortable and fashionable.

Spring Pastels

The season, of spring and summer need some brighting up due to the winter season. Using light pastels can make an outfit up to date. The a main colours used in pastel hues are pink, lilac, light orange, yellow, spearmint and blue. Many of us don't know how to style up our outfits to either fit the season or the trends. But just adding one item to your favourite jeans or shoes can make a difference.

This February, I had a chance to express my love of fashion to my fellow students (friends :D). I choose to wear chinos, a light pink shirt (underneath a white vest) and Uggs. I know it doesn't sound like a good combination but it worked. It was casual smart wear. With this my makeup was dramatic but kept natural. Pink eye shadow, black eye liner with black mascara. A pink lipstick with a clear gloss.

As its getting cold this time of year try to wrap up warm. You don't want to be waiting at a bus stop with your toes cold. I choose to wear the thickest warmest socks ever with my boots :D.

Morning burst

It’s that time of the year when the winter is drawing near and the sun has said it's good bye's. When you get up in the morning you sometimes wish you could just sit, watch some TV with a duvet/blanket but it's not all bad when you have the face wash products to make you feel refreshed in the morning.
  • Simple Kind To Skin Moistuirising Facial Wash, this is a smooth liquid which doesn't have a perfumed smell. This is ideally for any skin type.
  • Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher is an exfoliator with a cream gel to minimize spots and pores. Great for teenagers as its simple and easy.
  • Clean and clear shine control daily facial wash, is an exfoliator gel that will make you wake up with the smell. The gel has small beads that get into the pores to get all the makeup off your face.

I have tried every one of these products, it's a matter of preference. I use Simple as a non harsh face wash, Garnier when I see one pimple/spot (emergency action needed) and clean and clear when I need something refreshing to wake me up. These items have been bought by me with my own money. I have used others but not that recently (in fact some of them may even be discontinued). For me I use the Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher as I’m in a rush now. On the weekends I use Simple Kind To Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash.

I would love to know which products you use, which of them you absolutely love and have to buy.
